Our History
Car Doctors was founded by childhood friends Nick and Gary back in 2012. With a passion for cars and a dream of creating a top-notch auto repair shop, they established Car Doctors in Reynoldsburg, OH. Over the years, they built a reputation for quality service and customer care. However, like many small businesses, Car Doctors faced challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic. In the midst of these challenges, Nick and Gary decided it was time to move on from the company they had lovingly built.
New Beginnings
In 2021, John and Liz Greve were on the lookout for new business opportunities. By chance, they came across Gary’s post about Car Doctors. John and Gary had previously worked together, and John saw potential in taking over the business. Encouraged by his wife Liz, John decided to leave his corporate job and dedicate himself full-time to Car Doctors. Their transition into the auto repair industry marked a new chapter for the business.
Enhancements and Improvements
Upon taking ownership, John and Liz quickly went to work implementing improvements to enhance the customer experience. They introduced a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty, added loaner vehicles, and incorporated digital vehicle inspections. These changes not only elevated the service quality but also strengthened the trust and loyalty of their customers.
A Legacy of Family and Resilience
During this transformative period, Liz was bravely battling metastatic breast cancer. Sadly, Liz passed away in November 2022. Despite this immense loss, the spirit and values she instilled in Car Doctors live on. The business continues to be a family endeavor, with their children, James, Colleen, Mary Claire, and Sean, all playing active roles in its success. Their involvement ensures that Car Doctors remains a family-oriented business, committed to carrying on Liz’s legacy of resilience, dedication, and exceptional customer service.
